This class is your time to learn and gain a proper understanding of Composition and the importance of light to help boost your photography skills.We, as a class, will be photographing a model without any on-camera flash or strobe photography. Just the available light, we will walk through, troubleshoot, make adjustments and capture a portrait successfully. We will also learn how to use light modifiers like a reflector to help capture appropriately exposed shots in not-so-great lighting

Start your morning early by photographing the sunrise at Sandon Point headland. We'll watch the sunrise off at the iconic boat sheds to catch the first light as it accentuates the textures of the rocks and wood. Afterwards, we'll explore the rock platform, where you'll have plenty of chances to capture macroinvertebrates, birds, and seascapes, and for those who are keen, we will also try some ICM intentional camera movement on the breaking waves.

If you want to get off the auto modes or refresh your knowledge of manual settings, join us as a small group (max 6 people) for a morning exploring Wollongong‘s Botanic Gardens. Learn to be confident using your camera and transform your everyday snaps into outstanding images. There will be a variety of subject matter to experiment with and practice using your camera.
We will cover the fundamentals of manual camera settings for correct exposure and explore composition, focus and depth of field. We will also discuss different lenses, their applications, and camera care and maintenance.
Techniques will be adapted to your skill level.

Enjoy a peaceful evening by the ocean, capturing the beauty of the setting sun and the rising full moon, framed by the striking rock formations at Cathedral Rocks. This session will explore techniques for balancing exposure and composition, helping you create distinctive and timeless images. A good understanding of manual camera settings will help you get the most from this experience.
Please note that you'll need to be comfortable walking on uneven rocks and sand. This session cannot be rescheduled in the event of poor weather.
A tripod is recommended for this session. If you don't have one, I have a few available to lend—just let me know ahead of time.
